Electrical Engineer - Corrugated Packaging

Hours;

Week 1 - 6-2pm

Week 2 - 2-10pm

Week 3 - 10pm-6am

Salary - DOE

The Company: The opportunity for a Mechanical / Electrical engineer to join a leading packaging manufacturer who create innovative, high-quality, cost-effective corrugated cardboard packaging.


The role:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on automated packaging equipment.
  • Install, commission, and test electrical systems and machinery.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to increase equipment reliability and production efficiency.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using the company's maintenance management system.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to minimise downtime and improve plant performance.
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installations.

Electrical Engineer Skills required:

  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification (Level 3 or above, HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
  • Ideally have experience of the following machines; a Corrugator, LMC P1230, Weipong, Martin 924, M924, Emba 245, Emba 170, LMC 2 colour, LMC 5 Colour
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and industrial automation.
  • Experience with electrical maintenance, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
