Hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm

About the business:

My client has an opportunity available for a full-time Health and Safety /Compliance Officer to join their team based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

My client produces a variety of packaging, mainly for the retail sector. This includes self-adhesive labels, linerless labels, as well as printed folded cartons.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to join our team and manage Health and Safety as well as learn BRCGS Compliance across out three sites. Our three sites are certificated to BRCGS for Packaging Materials and we are proud to have achieved + AA Grade.

Responsibilities of a Health and Safety / Compliance Officer:

  • To implement and monitor all aspects of Health and Safety and ensure we are compliant with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • To monitor and review our Health and Safety systems, policies and procedures and ensure compliance at all sites.
  • Write and review Risk Assessments and work alongside the team to ensure that processes are implemented.
  • To develop and maintain safe systems of work and provided advice, training and practical support.
  • To Identify potential hazards and make necessary changes to minimise risks.
  • To keep up to date with legislation and developments in Health and Safety and within the packaging industry.
  • To complete any Health and Safety training requirements.
  • To work within the Quality Team and learn all matters relating to BRCGS packaging materials including (Full training will be given)

Skills & Requirements for a Health & Safety / Compliance Officer:

  • Professional qualification in Health and Safety (IOSH,NEBOSH)
  • Experience in auditing, inspecting and surveying to identify any issues
  • Experience in managing Health and Safety in a complex, multi-site environment
  • Experience with fire safety
