Multi-Point Folder Gluer Machine Operator (Minder)

Location: Huntingdon, England
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary

£16.30 - £20.35 per hour, depending on experience and ability to run additional machinery.

Working Hours

Double day shift pattern (9-day fortnight):

Early Shift

  • Monday to Friday: 5:30am - 1:45pm
  • 75 hours per week

Late Shift

  • Monday to Wednesday: 1:45pm - 12:00am
  • Thursday: 1:45pm - 11:45pm
  • Friday: Not required

All shifts include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Purpose of a Multi-Point Folder Gluer:

We are looking for an experienced Multi-Point Folder Gluer Machine Operator (Minder) to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality products at optimum machine speeds while minimising waste and maintaining excellent health and safety standards.

What They're Looking For in a Multi-Point Folder Gluer:

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years' folder gluer operating experience.
  • Experience operating Vega, Signature, Bobst or Diana folder gluers is preferred.
  • Ability to achieve efficient make-readies and consistently meet production and OEE targets.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively within a production team.

Desirable

Experience producing:

  • 4-corner cartons
  • Crash lock cartons
  • Bookwraps
  • Corrugated envelopes

Key Responsibilities of a Multi-Point Folder Gluer:

  • Set up and operate folder gluer machinery efficiently to achieve production targets.
  • Produce work to customer specifications and approved samples.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards while minimising waste.
  • Monitor machine performance and report any issues promptly.
  • Carry out daily machine maintenance and assist with planned preventative maintenance (TPM).
  • Maintain a safe working environment, following all health and safety procedures, including COSHH requirements.
  • Lead and support assistants, feeders, stackers and packers.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards using 5S principles.
  • Understand corrugated materials and identify material-related issues.
  • Follow all production instructions accurately.
