The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the night shift operation, helping to organise and coordinate the production team, maintaining quality standards and ensuring work is completed efficiently and to schedule.

Previous experience in a formal management or supervisory position would be beneficial, but it is not essential. The company is also keen to hear from experienced print-industry professionals who have strong technical knowledge, a proactive attitude and the potential to develop into a team leader.

Management training and ongoing support will be available for the right candidate.

The Role

Working within the Printing department, you will take responsibility for supporting the day-to-day running of the night shift and helping to ensure production operates smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and guiding the night shift printing team to ensure daily production requirements are achieved.
  • Helping to organise workloads and allocate tasks across the team.
  • Monitoring production activity to ensure jobs are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Providing practical support and guidance to machine operators and production colleagues.
  • Ensuring production processes and procedures are followed correctly.
  • Monitoring quality throughout the printing process and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Identifying production problems and helping to find practical solutions.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues and management to ensure a smooth handover between shifts.
  • Encouraging good working practices, productivity and attention to detail.
  • Helping maintain a safe, clean and organised production environment.
  • Supporting the introduction of new machinery, processes and ways of working as the business continues to expand.
  • Taking an active role in developing the night shift operation as the business moves towards 24/7 production.

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong background in printing or production who is ready to take on additional responsibility and develop their leadership skills.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience working within a printing or production environment.
  • A good understanding of printing processes, production machinery and workflow.
  • Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor or Senior Operator would be advantageous.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and build positive working relationships.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to supporting production teams.
  • The confidence to provide direction, guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • A strong focus on quality, efficiency and meeting production deadlines.
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • The motivation and commitment to develop into a leadership position.
  • Flexibility to complete the initial training period on day shifts.

Formal management experience is not essential. Experienced printers or production operators who can demonstrate strong industry knowledge, reliability and the potential to lead others are encouraged to apply.

What's On Offer?

  • Starting salary from £30,000 per annum.
  • Salary flexibility for candidates with relevant experience.
  • Permanent, full-time employment.
  • Four-night working week, Sunday to Wednesday.
  • Consistent night shift hours of 22:00-06:00.

  • Management and leadership training available.
  • Opportunity to take on a key role within an expanding production operation.
