Job Spec for Role: Sales Executive

Reporting to: Head of Operations / Managing Director

Location: Luton

Package: £30k-£32k basic salary, dependant on experience, with on target earnings of £71K-75K. Commission will be paid quarterly.

Status: Permanent, full time. (Important note: this is an office-based role).

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.5-hour days with flexi start times between 08:00-10:00. Lunch is 30-minutes.

Holiday: 28 days including bank holiday

Benefits: Flexi working hours (start between 08:00-10:00) and medical insurance on completion of probation.

The Role:

My client is a dynamic and innovative exhibition design and build company dedicated to creating immersive experiences for their clients. With a passion for creativity and excellence, they strive to exceed expectations in every project they undertake.

You will work for a business who specialise in the design and build of exhibition stands, showroom & office design and installation and retail display units. They are offering an opportunity for a Sales Executive to join their team on a permanent basis, at their Luton office, joining their sales department in a new role to the business.

Initially the role's main focus will be to increase company revenue and client base, generating new business, specifically to fall in line with expected / predicted gaps in the industry annual cycle.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, experience of working in a sales environment, with a proven track record for winning and managing new customers, negotiating, facilitating customer orders and exceeding sales targets.

The ability to work as part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team is essential, and being competent to oversee projects through from customer enquiry to project management handover is of high importance. This role will work closely with our estimating and design departments and as a key part of the sales team.

Main Duties:

  • Generate new business by using various forms of sales techniques & platforms
  • Manage, meet, and exceed, monthly / annual sales targets
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients
  • Retain, and account manage, existing clients
  • Continually build industry knowledge of products, materials for manufacture and design features
  • Understand our competitors, their products and USP's
  • Ensure consistent & accurate use of the Company's CRM system
  • Prepare weekly and/or monthly sales reports as directed

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years' sales experience with a track record of success in achieving targets
  • Experienced in using CRM systems
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to make and increase sales
  • Strong pipeline management
  • Proficient in lead generation via various channels
  • Ability to self-generate high value customer leads to ensure target customer profile mix is achieved
  • Network effectively with potential new customers to develop relationships and business opportunities
  • Conduct research to identify new markets, new products, customer needs and business opportunities, in order to reach new markets and maintain business activity throughout the year
  • Sales forecasting in order to overcome the issue of seasonality by organising workflow to prevent gaps in manufacturing
  • Attend trade exhibitions to generate new sales leads and follow up where appropriate
  • Make presentations to clients both new and existing to maximise commercial potential
  • Negotiate prices, quantities and delivery schedules and manage customer expectations
  • Ability to manage own workload, including prioritisation and organisation of tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with high attention to detail
  • IT literate, with experience of using a CRM software
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to close deals

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of the exhibition industry and associated trends (highly desirable)
  • Experience in the process of design and development of creative manufactured solutions
  • An understanding of the customer decision making process and the ability to articulate a value proposition to increase growth/new business wins.
  • Experience of selling products or services to corporate and independent companies, brands, B2B service providers.
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements to create design briefs for in-house designers to work to
